Become a Merit Badge Counselor

Step 1: Complete and Submit Adult Application

1. Complete the Adult Membership Application (Position Code 42 Merit Badge Counselor) & Adult Leader CORI Form
   • Visit the Adult Registration Portal to complete your application for Merit Badge Counselor, Adult Leader CORI Form, and Disclosures & Background Check
2. Complete Safeguarding Youth Training on my.scouting.org

Step 2: Submit Merit Badge Request

1. Submit the Merit Badge Counselor Information form online to indicate the merit badges for which you want to serve as a counselor

Once both steps are complete, your application will be reviewed by the council. Once approved, your merit badges will appear on my.scouting.org.
